Australian short story by Batuhan Geleri

Short story about Australia: Alone in an arid desert My name is Sacha and I am from England. Last summer, I went to Australia with my friends. While we were travelling to the desert in the middle of the country, we ran out of gas . We walked for hours and hours under the sun in the desert to find some human  presence, to get food and water. When we were so exhausted that we had to stop, a group of strange people came to our help . At first, they looked like savage cannibals but after we got  to know them, we understood that they were an Aboriginal tribe. We lived a very good experience, it was amazing! Finally, a few days later, the Australian authorities found us and a week later,  we flew back to London . From this experience, we still have a souvenir photo .

Story by Deniz Yilmaz

It happened in Melbourne, Australia. I was wandering about, between the skyscrapers. I loved that city : everything was perfect. It was sunny, everybody was happy. I had never been so happy in my life. But at one moment, something happened. Everybody started yelling, I didn’t understand what was going on. I looked up and saw something very big. It was just like a UFO but bigger, not two or three times bigger, more than a  hundred times! It was just like what happens in Marvel or DC films. I was walking thirty seconds before, but then, I didn’t know what to do. In films, everybody was trying to escape, but they were never reaching their objective : to survive. So I didn’t run and I went through the destroyer. I saw women crying with their babies in their arms, I had to save them. I had never seen anything like this in real life. I just stole a jetpack from a store whose door was open and I flew through the UFO. I entered  by an open door and saw plenty of aliens. I attacked...

Story by Begüm Hatipoglu

The last thing I remembered was my face hitting the icy cold water as I descended into the dark and terrifying abyss that was the ocean. Minutes after I fell into the water, I could feel my lungs as if they were on fire, the temperature of the water was making me lose all feeling in my limbs. I knew I had to get to the surface, but I was already in too deep. As I helplessly tried to swim back up, my vision started to blur and darken, my lungs were burning and before I knew it I fell into an endless sleep never to wake up again. But that’s not quite where the story begins… I was in Cairns on a dock, waiting for the arms dealer that I had arranged an appointment with. The deal was simple, I’d pay him the 400 grand and he’d give me the package.Naturally, I didn’t trust this guy, he was well-known on the black market for turning on his customers, so I had come prepared; the bullet proof vest did weigh me down and the gun was hard to hide from security, but it was better to be safe than...

Sharknado 3 by Murat Pamuksuz

SHARKNADO 3 Sydney, 2005 I was lying on the beach the day it happened, word got out that a giant SHARKNADO was going to hit the Sydney bays. I was terrified as I knew it could happen any minute. I had never seen a tornado much less a SHARKNADO. I had to return home, I needed to prepare for what was coming. On my way home, I realized that everyone else was panicking as well. When I arrived, I turned on the TV to see the news. All the channels had the same headline: “SHARKNADO İNCOMİNG! ARE WE ALL DOOMED?” What was I going to do? I was stuck in a place that was about to get hit by a huge natural disaster… But I wasn’t going to give up. Dawn arrived and I grabbed my boomerang and got outside. A SHARKNADO the size of an apartment was raging near the Opera House. I quickly spotted many different species of shark being  hurled out. (Tiger, Great White, Hammerhead etc…) And then I saw it: THE BIGGEST SHARK I HAD EVER SEEN, It was a Megalodon. Almost 20 times the size of a Great W...

Australian story by Onur Aroymak

It happened last year on the West coast of Australia. I was on the beach with my brother. He went to swim while I was tanning. Suddenly I heard screams and got up just before I saw a giant shark eating people! It was a megalodon. I started to run away as fast as I could but then I saw my brother in the ocean. He had fainted. I ran to him but the megalodon was between us. The coast guard arrived and began to throw some harpoons at the monster. I was on the coast, watching the most terrible thing I had ever seen. An hour later, the megalodon was weaker, it understood that it couldn’t win the battle so it escaped into the depths of the sea. There were lots of bodies in the water. I found my brother, the megalodon had eaten one of his legs. Now, my brother has only one leg but we are still alive. And the megalodon is under the water, near Australia, ready to attack again.

Australian adventure by Sara Erciyas

Australian adventure Two years ago,   I went to Australia because I was very curious about Ayers rock or Uluru, that gigantic rock in the middle of the desert. So I asked a friend, who was a tourist guide,  to show me around Australia. He said that there would be a lot of visitors to show around, so I would have to join a group. On the first day of the tour, we went to Sydney, to  Bondi Beach. We had a lot of fun. And on the second day, we went to AYERS ROCK!!! As my friend was telling us the story of the rock and the other tourists were enjoying the visit, I started to examine Ayers Rock more closely. I didn’t realize the time spent, when I went back to see the others, they were not there anymore! I was shocked for a few minutes, but then  I climbed on top of the rock and looked around... and I saw a boy looking at me from the top of a tree! At first , I didn’t understand it was a boy, but then he started screaming at the same time as me! He lost his bala...

Australia - story by Nehir Senozan

Nehir senozan                                                              4B I was in Alice Springs, I had arrived two days before because I wanted to see the desert.  I had never been to Australia before and I was very curious about life there, but it was actually very sunny, hot, quiet and empty in the desert. I was walking on the sand and singing because I was bored. As I was looking around, I suddenly saw something but I didn’t know what is was. I was alone, all alone in the middle of the Australian desert! I was scared of the “thing” that I had seen, so I immediately started running. And I saw it again: it was something black, not a human nor an animal , it was like a ghos...

Australian adventure by Baris Coskun

-“Six years ago, I went to Australia alone by helicopter for a business meeting. I was so excited because, since my father’s death, this was the first time that I had replaced him. The helicopter was really comfortable and I was in the middle of a reading session. Suddenly, the pilot started to say “Mayday” a couple of times. I panicked and tried to ask the pilot what was going wrong but he didn’t have time to answer and we crashed onto an island. I woke up in the middle of the island. I looked for the pilot and the helicopter to see if I could fix it. But I couldn’t find any of them. I ate a lot of coconuts because I was hungry. After that, I built a very big flag for someone to see that I was stuck on the island. One day, two days, three days, four days… Nobody had noticed me. I was drinking salty water and eating coconuts. I gave up and I didn’t have hope anymore. But suddenly, a ship appeared in the distance. They saw the flag. I was so happy as I went on board! I asked if they we...

An Australian story by Catherine Berigel

Catherine Berigel 4B                               An Australian story Three years ago, the following events happened to me when I was in Australia, in Darwin . I was on holiday with my best friend and we were staying at a beautiful hotel near the beach.I love swimming so it was great for me but, on the very first day,  an employee at the hotel told us that we were not allowed to swim. I was wondering why when a little boy came and said he desperately needed to swim in the sea even though it was forbidden. At first, I answered that it might be dangerous but then I told him that I was going to think about it and maybe join in. So I went to look for  my friend but I couldn’t find her anywhere .When I finally saw her , I asked her where she had been but I didn’t understand why she said that she didn’t know! I was puzzled...We wa...

My Australian Story by çagla Köprülü

My Australian Story It was two years ago, I had just landed in Cairns with my best friend. We decided to see the Great Barrier Reef and then cage dive the other day. I was really tired and it was very late. When we arrived, I saw a little thing shining in the middle of the sea not too far away. I tried to explain it to my friend but she told me there was nothing there, I thought it was a hallucination because I was really tired so we went back to the hotel. The other day, after breakfast, we went back to the Great Barrier Reef to cage dive. I tried to spot the little shining thing again but it had disappeared. Suddenly, I saw a shining object near the shore and I picked it up, it was a little rock but it was shining, a lot. I heard my friend searching for me, she had been waiting for me for about fifteen minutes. We were in separate cages, the employees were doing anything to make sharks come near us, but they didn’t .We were getting pulled back to the surface but suddenly my cage ...

My story by Zaïneb Mermoule

It was the worst and the funniest thing that had ever happened to me. It was three years ago in Australia, in the desert. I was looking for my parents. When I found them, or I thought that I had found them, they looked like Aborigines. They were speaking their language, they looked at me like never before. They told me to come and sit near a tree. They tied me to it. It was really scary. They made a circle around me and they sang weird songs ! I thought that they wanted to kill me, like in the stories. But it was just a joke. I told this story to all my friends and they were shocked and laughing at the same time!

My story by Selen Yigitoglu

“It happened last summer in Sydney, Australia. I had travelled there with my parents and my sister for the first time ever. I had never set foot in Australia before. The second day of our trip, I decided to sit down on the balcony of our hotel room. Then, I took out my sketchbook to draw the Sydney Opera House.   That’s where it all went wrong.   As I was drawing, I noticed that I was accidentally smudging and ruining the original characters I had drawn a while back. I was sorry that I had drawn there but I soon forgot about it while continuing to draw the Opera House.   As I was about to finish it, I heard someone calling me from the room. I got up and saw a brunette with extremely messy braided hair. She had a scar on her right cheek elongating towards her jaw. What struck me the most were her electric blue eyes. She looked about 17 years old.   We stared at each other in confusion until I broke the awkward silence. ...

I wish this story took place in Zimbabwe by Can Taskin

I wish this story took place in Zimbabwe By Can Taşkın March 14th, 2036. I had just arrived in Sydney, it was a calm day, I heard someone yell “ John, while James had had ‘had’, had had ‘had had’; ‘had had’ had had a better effect on the teacher ” from the school across the street. I had just prepared my equipment for my journey to Ayers’ rock. But this story isn’t about this, it’s about what happened when I arrived there. March 15th. I  arrived at Ayers’ rock this morning and after admiring it for a while and taking a break, I decided to get on top of it. I had climbed on top of the rock when I saw a bright light. When I opened my eyes, there was an asteroid in front of the famed rock I just so happened to be standing on. I had gotten closer to inspect the astronomical object when suddenly a sort of ‘gate’ appeared on the side of Ayers’ rock. I wasn’t even thinking, my mind was blank and, when I had walked through the gate, I found myself in a humongous room, impossible...

Worst trip of my life by Maïra Immongault

This story took place fifteen years ago. I was seventeen years old at the time. I had arrived in Brisbane with my seven best friends one week before for  summer break. We were so excited because this trip was the dream of our life!                                   On Friday, the 13th, we decided to go surfing after lunch. We put our surf boards in the car  and took some food to have a picnic on the beach, after surfing. Maëva and Mickaëla didn’t know how to swim but we didn’t know that we had forgotten to take the safety jackets.                                    ...
